Page 1 of 4 In this tutorial I'm going to show how to make slicing effect using simple shading networks.
First create some geometry. You can use any type of geometry.
Then go to the hypershade and create lambert shader. Assign that shader to the objects.
Then create ramp texture, but check as projection check box. * Projection uses placement objects in 3d space to project image onto the object. This is usefull when we don't want to mess with UV's.
As you can see there are 4 new nodes. Projection1 node takes image info from ramp1, and placement info from place3dtexture1
Connect projection1 node to lambert1.transparency
