Page 1 of 3 In this tutorial I will show you how to use nurbs curves and surfaces to build simple axe.
Start with nurbs cylinder, scale it to create handle.
Go to edit nurbs/rebuild surface option box, and choose linear degree for U.
Then go to isopram selection mode (hold right click on object, choose isopram). Now we will create the top of the handle so, select one isopram near the top, and go to edit nurbs/insert isoprams option box. Make sure that mode is at selection. This will create new row of CV's.
Then select the top row (row is CV's is called Hull)
Scale it to create the top, and ad some more hulls.
Scale two hulls
Create the rest using same technique.
Now the blade. Create curves to define the blade's edge. You can use CV curve tool or EP curve tool. I prefer CV curve tool. Define top and bottom edges with same number of cv's. Also in tool settings (second icon from the right in the shelf), make sure that cubic is checked.
